Mohanlal and Mukesh Combo.

Mohanlal and Mukesh The Commercial Combination. It doesn't mean other combinations are not commercially viable or less superior. But whenever we see these two actors in one film in lead, it is kinda sure that the film will emerge as a commercial success. Mohanlal-Mukesh chemistry has shades can be expressed as a combination which provides the feel of both Mohanlal-Jagathy and Mohanlal-Sreenivasan at the same time. Mohanlal-Jagathy because both are brilliant and spontaneous actors, especially comic roles and Mohanlal- Sreenivasan for their onscreen friendship. Even physically both matches. It started with ' Boeing Boeing ' which demanded these actors to perform slapstick comedy and natural humour at the same times. Another film which displayed their chemistry was ' Vandanam ', especially the scenes in the building. M.T. Vasudevan Nair about Mohanlal.

The situation was like- the character played by Lal (Sathyanathan)- awaiting his death hanging that following night- receives a message that- the sentence has received a stay from the Supreme Court- and his execution is put on hold. The shot sequence had Janardhanan chettan , Murali and Nedumudi Chettan along with Lal on screen. The shot ends with Lal breaking down into tears, falling to the floors with camera zooming in to his expressive emotions- unable to comprehend the sudden joy of getting a few more days to live. Mohanlal - India's answer to Marlon Brando

Why is Mohanlal compared to Marlon Brando? That's because their acting is so well attuned to each other, yet so distant. T he genius of Mohanlal isn't in method acting, but it's in subtlety and being natural. T his is wherein his acting merges with Brando (the most natural actor I've ever seen) take a couple of Mohanlal's best performances, he doesn't act, instead he becomes the character. T his is precisely what Brando excelled in (barring the murmuring). He was simply the most natural actor. Brando never seemed to display any struggle in acting; his acting was just plain eloquent and free flowing. I'm certain RGV's comment does make a lot of sense (quite ironical) but it's true. "M ohanlal is India's answer to Marlon Brando."
