Why is Mohanlal compared to Marlon Brando? That's because their acting is so well attuned to each other, yet so distant. The genius of Mohanlal isn't in method acting, but it's in subtlety and being natural. This is wherein his acting merges with Brando (the most natural actor I've ever seen) take a couple of Mohanlal's best performances, he doesn't act, instead he becomes the character. This is precisely what Brando excelled in (barring the murmuring). He was simply the most natural actor. Brando never seemed to display any struggle in acting; his acting was just plain eloquent and free flowing. I'm certain RGV's comment does make a lot of sense (quite ironical) but it's true. "Mohanlal is India's answer to Marlon Brando."
Absolute truth...What an actor Mr Mohanlal is. Truly one of the finest.
