Mohanlal and Sreenivasan Combo.

"If a movie is to be fixed well, all the components of it should be well. I do not want to act well enough to make a scene better. The people with me should act well." This familiar quote comes from the legendary actor, Mohanlal himself. I believe this might be the main reason why we are able to get catered with many brilliant scenes from this actor along with his co-actors. I believe he might be the actor who shares brilliant chemistry with most number of actors. I am going through those actors with whom I believe he shares the best chemistry with and why I felt so.

The Tom & Jerry of Malayalam Cinema. Whenever these two actors join together onscreen, you can surely expect someone is going to lit a cracker onscreen. The main reason why I felt this chemistry is extremely unique is mainly because the difference both possess and how they use that difference to create the chemistry.

In Akkareyakkareyakkare, the antagonist describes this character in a interesting way. "One is tall and fair and other is dark and short." If you check most of their characters, they never played a true-blooded friendship where one is ready to sacrifice for other. They are more like characters who are looking for an opportunity to out-beat the other character. The element of jealousy is felt throughout their friendship and thus adds to the realism as well as to the uniqueness.

Mostly we see these actors performing under the script of Sreenivasan and mostly directed by Sathyan Anthikad or Priyadarshan. Hence smart dialogues from Sreenivasan always helped to keep these character explore their unique chemistry under various backdrops. This is the main reason why we happen to see classics in form of Dasan-Vijayan from Naadodikaatu, which is the epitome of their chemistry. But one movie which I found rather special and different happens to be Pavithram. Sreenivasan playing the role of his elder brother was simply outstanding and did look like real brothers despite of many films where we saw them playing friends in the past. But still that is not good enough to beat the cult scene in Sanmanasullavarkku Samadhaanam... "Snehathinekkaalum valuthaanedaa enikku sathyavum neethiyum...
Mannaankkatta."
