Mohanlal - Jagathy, the Duo.

Brilliant and Spontaneous. If Mohanlal-Sreenivasan chemistry is unknown for its uniqueness, Mohanlal-Jagathy Sreekumar combination is known for its brilliance. Brilliance because we have two outstanding actors onscreen. Both are known for their versatility and improvisation during their shot. But just like Jagathy Sreekumar, this combination was known for its comic roles. I believe due to this very reason, we haven't experienced the other side of this combination.

We have heard great actors saying "Acting is Reacting to a Performance." You need to see Mohanlal-Jagathy scenes to understand that. Everyone is quite aware of the fact that their best work came through two films, Kilukkam and Yodha. Check out the famous scene where Mohanlal describes about his Singapore plans to Jagathy. I am sure those dialogues are written and the scenes are set. But I am equally sure that the mannerisms are spontaneous. No one can't write those on paper or explain it via words and action. It should come from within and only meant for brilliant actors.

Another example of their brilliance is the "Padakali..." song from Yodha. This time the challenging fact was they had to express via lip-syncing the song. You know very well how that songs came out finally. Some scenes of avg/mediocre films like Hallo and Rock'n'Roll looked brilliant because of their energy infused onscreen. I am sure Mohanlal will miss this actor like anything after the tragedy (Jagathy's accident) last year.
